The team at Beyond Healthcare understands the dynamic nature of modern families. With work, school, household responsibilities, afterschool programs, and community sports, we know families need flexibility in scheduling. To that end, we offer weekend appointments and the ability to meet at our center, in your home, in your community, or online. If your adolescent is struggling with behavioral or mental health issues, we can help. Reach out to us online or by calling 833.698.0453. We accept Medicaid and private insurance. Our goal is to provide specialized outpatient treatment that doesn’t cause too much disruption in your family, school, or personal life.  An outpatient setting can be ideal for care after a residential or inpatient stay.  We also offer programs that incorporate tutoring and education so adolescents can get the treatment they need without getting behind on their school work. Ohio Mental Health Treatments Involve Family Therapy

Family therapy is a cornerstone of our treatment programs at Beyond Healthcare. According to the family systems theory, a family unit is a complex social system wherein each individual’s actions influence others and the unit as a whole. From this perspective, for one family member to recover, the entire family has to heal. Adolescents and teens thrive when they receive consistent, healthy support from their parents and other family members. Family therapy helps foster this. Family therapy is intended to supplement individual therapy. Some of the benefits of family therapy include:

  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Improved communication skills
  • Parental coaching
  • Education programs
  • Increased level of trust
  • Effective coping skills
  • Learning to identify and manage triggers

Family therapy is essential when an adolescent or teen has experienced trauma or is experiencing mental health issues. However, it can also help get through difficult times such as divorce, moving to a new town, experiencing grief and loss, or other times where extra support is needed.

Length of Our Mental Health Treatment Program

Our treatment team will work with each family to determine the appropriate length of your program.  This will be determined by progress on your individual goals, symptom reduction, and readiness for less intensive care. Not sure what group program is best for you?  We are here to help you determine what would help your child the best.  Call us for a free consultation at 419-309-3991.
