Beyond Healthcare believes that community is a key element of the healing process. We strive to create opportunities for greater connection between clients, family members, alumni, and friends who may be searching for others who might have similar interests and challenges. Community Connections consists of group support activities for alumni, family, and friends in a fun and casual environment that fosters peer-to-peer interaction and builds social bonds. Finding a path to healing can be fun, and you don’t have to do it alone!

We believe that helping others and finding your purpose in life is also key to life-long wellness.
What Is Community Connections?
This group meets once a month to provide connection and encouragement to parents of high-risk children. Parents might struggle with managing stress, their own mental health, and their kids who are facing challenges.
You don’t have to be an alumnus of Beyond Healthcare to participate in our programs. Our group support activities are open to clients, families, alumni, and any guest. Beyond Healthcare does not charge any fees to participate in our support activities. Sign up for our support activities to meet and have fun with people like you in a stigma-free and accepting environment.
Connecting Families with Other Families
Beyond Healthcare helps families build relationships with other families.
As a parent, your support network will help keep you stable and balanced. Our monthly parent group provides support and encouragement to parents who are helping their children overcome mental health and behavioral issues. When parents feel supported, it is easier for them to provide nurturing structure and support for their children. Even parents who have a solid support network may find that their friends and family members don’t always understand the behavioral needs of their children. In addition to our Community Connections program, we offer an array of behavioral support for children and adolescents, including:
- Holistic care
- ADHD support
- Depression counseling
- Expressive therapy
- Motivational interviewing
Supportive Community for All
Beyond Healthcare welcomes and celebrates all types of families.
A connected community is a place where you and your family belong, can build relationships, and gain support. You don’t have to do this alone. There are other parents just like you who will walk alongside you as you participate in our family and alumni programs. We offer unique, open-minded, family-centered, constructive conversations to help parents feel supported and connected. We specialize in helping parents whose children struggle with the following issues:
- Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Depression and anxiety
- Self-injuring behavior
- Addictions and Co-occurring disorders

Join Our Community
Families need to feel connected. Other behavioral health practices may not tell you this, but therapy alone isn’t enough. Families need to feel connected to other families who understand their struggles. Community Connections was designed to help parents expand their support networks in order to encourage healing and growth and eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Clients who have the opportunity to strengthen the therapeutic alliance with their therapist and their community will also have a better experience in treatment.
Support Groups for Toledo Parents
The healing and trusting relationships your family will encounter in therapy will contradict past experiences. Our entire team, from the front office to the physicians has a deep understanding and empathy for children with behavioral health concerns. Many parents neglect their own health in order to care for their children; however, when parents sacrifice their own self-care, they can’t help their children the way they want to. Parents and caregivers can begin their healing in the following programs:
- Mental health counseling
- Medication management
- Family therapy
- Virtual therapy via telehealth appointments
- Crisis management and intervention
